GriefShare is a 13-week seminar series for individuals who have experienced the death of a loved one.  It is designed to be a warm, caring environment to help guide you through the journey of grief. New people can join at any time during the session.

At Wallace Presbyterian Church, these grief recovery groups meet during the fall and again in the spring. We also offer a short seminar called Surviving the Holidays once each year.

COVID-19 UPDATE: Our weekly GriefShare meetings are not being held at the church at this time. GriefShare has made their video content available online and you can participate in a remote discussion with our group members. To obtain access to the videos or for more information, email our team leader.

Contact the team leader for more information.

  • We meet in the Pastoral Intern’s office on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm.

  • Participants may begin at any point in the cycle.

  • We ask you to let us know if you plan to attend, in case we need to notify you of any changes to the schedule.

  • There is a $15 charge for materials.

Each session has three distinct elements:

  • Video seminar with experts:

Each week your GriefShare group will watch a video seminar featuring top experts on grief and recovery subjects.

  • Support group discussion with focus:

After viewing the video, you and the other group members will spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in that week’s video seminar and what is going on in your lives.

The leadership team for GriefShare consists of people who have a real concern for individuals experiencing the grief of loss. Most GriefShare leaders have experienced significant losses in their lives and are examples of the healing and restoration that can occur as an outgrowth of deep grief.

  • Personal study and reflection:

During the week you will have the opportunity to use your workbook for further personal study of the grieving process and to help sort out your emotions through journaling. Your group will spend time discussing questions and comments from the workbook study.
