The Young Adult Fellowship (YAF) is a ministry directed primarily toward singles and couples in graduate school and beyond (being young at heart is more important than actual age!). YAF aims to help seekers and believers at all stages of their spiritual life grow in their walk with the Lord, and provides many opportunities to connect with and encourage one another.
YAF meets regularly in large and small group settings:
- Sunday school: Large group meetings take place each Sunday after the worship service for instruction and fellowship. This quarter the Young Adult Fellowship will be studying the Doctrine of Scripture in which we will consider important issues related to our confession that the Bible is the word of God. These issues include the Bible’s inspiration, authority, sufficiency, canonicity, and others.
- Bible studies: Men and women meet separately each week to study the Bible, pray, and share with each other in trials and times of joy.
- Service projects: We seek to use our gifts to support the local church and meet needs within the community. At various times throughout the year, we may visit nursing home residents, send cards to missionaries, buy Christmas presents for needy children, and help with yard work or other projects on the church property and at local homes.
- Social events: Ranging from concerts, road trips, and dancing to movie nights, picnics, and weekend retreats, these activities provide a great avenue to build friendships as we enjoy events within the D.C. area and beyond.
